Immigrants and Refugees Advocacy – Local Organization

The Behavioral Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission seeks experienced contractors to support immigrant and refugee populations in California. The contracts aim to increase awareness of behavioral health needs, improve culturally appropriate services, and enhance advocacy at state and local levels. California hosts about 10.4 million immigrants, representing 23% of the nation's foreign-born population. The state also resettles refugees, with a current annual ceiling of 125,000. Immigrants and refugees face challenges accessing culturally responsive behavioral health services due to language barriers, complex processes, cultural stigma, and lack of provider cultural responsiveness. The Commission proposes to award contracts to seven Local Organizations and one Statewide Organization for advocacy, training, education, and outreach activities. Each contract is valued at $502,500, totaling $4,020,000.
