This program will help preserve, grow, and sustain New Mexico's cherished tourism events. TEGS provides technical assistance, marketing, and sponsorship to qualified tourism events in New Mexico. Eligible events must drive out-of-state travel, drive in-state travel with overnight stays, and provide experiences aligned with the New Mexico True brand. Three program tracks: Accelerator (up to $5,000 reimbursement for event improvements), Event Marketing & Promotion (2:1 matching investment for co-branded marketing), and Sponsorship (up to $50,000 based on event attendance tier). All eligible entities must have a fiscal agent; for-profit and some nonprofit applicants must partner with a government entity as fiscal agent. Program Details New Mexico Tourism Department is a funding organization that offers the Tourism Event Growth & Sustainability Program grant program to support sustainability. This funding opportunity is available statewide and is administered by New Mexico Tourism Department through New Mexico Tourism Department. Organizations seeking funding for sustainability should review the details below and confirm their eligibility before preparing an application. Eligibility Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, for-profit businesses, government agencies and municipalities, and tribal governments and Native American organizations. Organizations that meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to apply and to review the full program guidelines before submission. Because eligibility rules and funding priorities can change between cycles, applicants should always confirm the current requirements with New Mexico Tourism Department or on New Mexico Tourism Department before investing time in an application. Funding and Timeline Funding available: $5K – $50K. This is a rolling or open-cycle opportunity with no fixed application deadline. Applicants should allow sufficient time to gather required documentation, including organizational information, project descriptions, budgets, and supporting materials as specified in the program guidelines. Submitting a complete application well ahead of the deadline reduces the risk of disqualification on technical or administrative grounds. Program Focus This grant supports sustainability. Funded projects are expected to demonstrate measurable outcomes aligned with the program's stated objectives. Grant recipients may be required to submit progress reports and final evaluations as a condition of the award, and to retain records for audit and compliance purposes.
