The FLAP program funds projects that provide access to, are adjacent to, or are located within Federal Lands that are owned or maintained by a State, County, Local Government, or Tribe. Priority will be given to projects accessing high-use Federal recreation sites or Federal economic generators. The program intends to supplement state and local resources for public roads, trails, transit systems, and other transportation facilities. Type of Projects include: Rehabilitation/ Restoration/ Construction/ Reconstruction; Engineering; Operation and maintenance of transit facilities; Planning & research related to Transportation ; Any transportation project eligible for assistance under Title 23. Awarded projects from the 2020-2021 Call for Projects are for project funding and development in the 2026 to 2028 Federal Fiscal Years (e.g. beginning October 1, 2025 and ending September 30, 2028).
