Any project that meets the objectives of Proposition 1 may apply, but the Conservancy is particularly interested in the following endeavors: Land acquisition projects that preserve watershed features, flows into the aquifer, Whitewater River and Flood Plain or the Salton Sea; prevent flooding; or conserve habitat areas for endangered or threatened species of animals and plants. Watershed restoration or enhancement projects, such as those that reclaim natural features like streambeds, washes, or percolation areas; remove invasive species that draw excessive amounts of water from the aquifer or harm endangered or threatened species; or create refugia or new habitat area for such species. Infrastructure projects that facilitate water management or develop delivery structures that help reduce water use or enhance efficiency in a manner that complements surrounding habitat values. A pre application consultation meeting must be requested by July 20, 2021. As part of that process, a short pre application form must be submitted. Please contact the Conservancy to schedule the meeting and request the form.
